Executive Team
ION Holdings was founded by Chartered Accountants Wikus Lategan, Waldi Joubert and Wayne Williams, three visionary leaders with deep expertise in real estate, finance, and strategic growth. With decades of experience in driving complex developments, corporate turnarounds, and innovative funding models, they bring a bold, hands-on approach to building sustainable value across sectors. Together, they lead ION Holdings with integrity, agility, and a commitment to meaningful impact.
Wikus Lategan
CO-FOUNDER
A Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with a wealth of experience in real estate and financial management, Wikus has led high-impact projects across Africa.
He holds a BCom (UP), a BCompt Honours, an Audit Diploma (UJ), and completed Harvard Business School’s Real Estate Program.
An active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Wikus is committed to fostering collaboration and innovation to support ION Holdings’ mission.
Wayne Williams
CO-FOUNDER
Wayne is a qualified attorney who was in private practice for 20 years, specialising in commercial and corporate law where he obtained extensive experience in commercial transactions and property-related negotiations and acquisitions.
Wayne joined Calgro M3 Holdings Ltd, a JSE listed company in 2012 where he was appointed as a Group Executive Director in June 2015, a position he held until he stepped down in June 2025. At Calgro M3, Wayne led all acquisition, transaction structuring and contract negotiations.
As a co-founder of ION Holdings, Wayne leverages his property related legal and industry knowledge, experience and negotiation skills to advance innovative deal making.
